Vivian was born on October 13, 1921, in Salyersville, KY to Edgar W. Bailey and Bess Picklesimer Bailey. She grew up in Ashland, KY, graduating from Ashland High School in 1938. She graduated from Berea College in 1942 and married Samuel T. Wygal, Jr. in the same year. Vivian taught elementary school, primarily sixth grade, in Louisville, for 32 years. Preceded in death by her husbands, Samuel T. Wygal Jr. and Daniel Marini. Vivian is survived by her daughter, Debbie Wygal and her partner, Mary Kay Watson, of Saint Paul; two grandsons, Nicholas Mascioli of Berkeley, CA and Matthew Mascioli of Boston, MA; and nieces Janet Wygal Zoller of Louisville and Susan Wygal of Topsham, ME. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady and Son Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd., with graveside services immediately following in the Cave Hill Cemetery. The family thanks the staff of the Wellington Assisted Living for their loving care and kindness during the past eight years.
