Wally wanted to please everybody, smiling and helping so many others.  I hope people remember him thousands of times daily when they look at the pictures he took of loved ones.  our wedding album was gift for our wedding.  It seems like a camera was his third hand, always with him.     He had a twinkle in his eye, a "rascal" look.     A hard life from the very start he made sure to try to help others have it easier, always an open house, heart and spirit.
We will miss him.  Wally and my dad were first cousins, born of twin brothers, so same grandfather.

Wally was special to our whole family, especially to my Dee.  He flew Dee and Joyce to Florida, taught Dee how to water ski and made me part if the family when I joined it in '68, taking pictures of our wedding.  He hosted my family and was loved by my children and grand children.  He always had a smile for us and a kind word. He has a special place in our hearts. And thank you for your service, Wally. You were part of 'the Greatest Generation'. RIP

We met Wally for Derby 1971.This instant friendship lasted until Derby 2013. He will forever be missed for he was a "one of a kind friend". Rosie and Ken Moen.

My grandfather was a great friend to many people. The things in life he taught my dad, my dad taught me. He would take in stray dogs and give them a home. He was a war hero but to me he will always be my hero. He loved life and all that it brought. He truly loved his family and friends. I loved going to Louisville for Christmas it was a blast. He always got the biggest tree he could find nothing but the best for his family. He was one of a kind!!!  He will be truly missed by me and I love you grandpa, I always will. God got a great man when he called grandpa home! My life was richer knowing him. I miss you grandpa, see you later!!!!

We will always remember Uncle Walter's smile and the way he brought happiness and laughter to every family gathering. He will be sadly missed.

Joyce,I wanted to tell you how much I liked your dad. I was only around him a few times,but I really enjoyed his company. I thought he was a true gentleman,which is fast becoming a lost art. What I want to say is I always looked forward to when we got together. I grew to be disappointed more and more when your parents couldn't make it to the gatherings. I wish now I had said something. I know you will miss him greatly,but I also know you have some wonderful memories. After all, the good memories are what sustain us.

My husband and I are so sad to hear of Walter's passing.  It is amazing how one person can change the lives of others by there actions and that is what Wally did for us.  Wally brought my husband here to America to work in his studio.  I would not have met Vincent if not for Wally.  
My husband has many fond memories of Wally, and is always saying that he was treated like a son.
We will miss those big hugs and kisses every time Wally would greet us, and the good times we spent with Wally and his family.  God Bless You Wally, and God Bless your Family in this time of sorrow.  Love Vincent and Sandy
