

Walter “Teddy” Carney Sr., 66, of Louisville, slipped quietly from this life to the next on Saturday, August 29, 2015 with his loving wife and family by his side. Walter was born on April 18, 1949 in Shaw, Mississippi to the late Johnny and Marie Carney. He served four years in the USAF, 1970-1974, and was stationed at Grisson Air Force base in Peru Indiana.
In 1972, Walter married the love of his life, Sallie Kendrick, and they were blessed with two wonderful children. He graduated from Jefferson Community and Technical College in 1984 with a degree in Plumbing Technology. Walter retired from General Electric (Appliance Park) after 35 years of service and was a member of the American Legion and Forest Baptist Church. Walter enjoyed carpentry, folk art painting and most recently trail riding.
Left to cherish Walter’s memory is his wife of 43 years, Sallie, children; Donnese (Desmond) and Walter Jr., brothers; John (Lena) and Tommy (Debbie), sisters; Merdis Bell, Renee Pitts and Annie Dixon, a very devoted sister in law, Margaret, devoted niece, Shantell (Reese) and nephew, Marshall, loving sister in laws, Fannie K. Dietrich and Myrtle McCain, also a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Walter is preceded in death by a brother, T.J. Carney.
Visitation for Walter will be Thursday, September 3rd, 2015 from 11:00 – 2:00 pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, with a private Celebration of Life.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gilda’s Club or Hosparus of Louisville.
