She was born June 22, 1955 in Fuling, P. R. China. She is survived by her son Eric Xilu Chen, her husband Wolfgang Zacharias, her mother WenHua Li, and her brother Qin Zhao.
Wei was foremost a dedicated mother whose life objective was to ensure the educational success and well-being of her son Eric and her family. After moving to the United States in 1989 with a UNICEF-sponsored fellowship, she continued her outstanding career as a scientist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, then as a highly respected board-certified pathologist at U of L and then at Lab Corp.
We will always remember her beauty, elegance, her expert professional skills, and her commitment to do things in the best and most caring way possible.
A visitation to reflect on Wei’s life will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 2 to 4 pm at Arch L. Heady & Sons Funeral Home at 2428 Frankfort Ave., Louisville KY 40206. Her burial will take place in the near future in Chengdu, Sichuan, P. R. China.
