Joe was born on February 17, 1940 in Nelson County, Kentucky to the late Charles L. Donohue and Roberta Smith Donohue. He is also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce Ann Donohue; step-daughter, Lita Brown; and his brothers, Robert Donohue, Roy F. Donohue, Charles L. Donohue, David L. Donohue and John B. Donohue.
Left to cherish Joe's memory are his children, Connie J. Slater (Stephen), William Mark Donohue (LeAnn); step-children, Shelley Brown, George Brown (Barbara); sisters, Marjorie Blackall (Jack), Phyllis Ann Nicholson (Wayne); brother, James C. Donohue (Sharon); grandchildren, Steven Berkley, Megan Slater (Jamie Slater), William Mark Donohue, Jr. (Jade) and Scott Slater (Alesha); step-grandchildren, Ann Hardin, Dawn Hardin, Vincent Brown, Dillon Brown (Kaitlyn); five great-grandchildren & seven step-great grandchildren.
A visitation for Joe will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025 from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40213, visitation will resume Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Joe will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery.
