William "Bill" H. Ross

William Howard Ross, age 95, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away peacefully in the Hospice Unit, Lake Cumberland Hospital, Somerset, Kentucky on July 29, 2023. William was cherished by his family for the loving father and grandfather that he was. William was born on October 13, 1927 in Etowah, Tennessee, son of James Allen and Gertha Ross. William graduated from Louisville Male High School and was a World War Il veteran of the United States Army. He was a graduate of the University of Louisville and worked for General Electric as a cost accountant supervisor for thirty years. William also ran an independent income tax service where he helped his clients with business and financial affairs. William was an avid University of Louisville sports fan and a golfer. He was loved by friends and family for his kindness and delightful sense of humor. William was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Gathel "Gaye" Ross. Left to cherish his memory are his two children, William Bruce Ross (Cindy) and Cheryl Hughett (Larry), four grandchildren, Jill Nashtatik (David), Elizabeth Hughett-Hurst (David), Jessica Meadors (Ed) and Eric Ross (Amanda) and nine great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Arch L Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road followed by a family service and burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the charity of your choice.
