With heavy hearts we share the passing of Wilma Lee Bolton on Monday, December 30th, 2024. Wilma was born in Louisville, KY on April 26, 1944 and she brought 80 years of joy, laughter, and energy into the world.
Some of her happiest memories were watching UofL basketball games with her beloved husband, Randell, and traveling to the Smoky Mountains, a place that always brought her peace and happiness.
Her life’s work reflected her generous heart. She spent many years working as a middle school teacher’s aide for students with occupational needs, offering them encouragement and care. Later, as a bookkeeper at Noe and Highland Middle Schools, she kept things running with her sharp mind and unforgettable sense of humor. She made a difference everywhere she went.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Ethel and Jesse Baird. She is survived by her husband and partner in life, Randell Bolton; her sister, Sara Schultz; her beloved children, Katherine Rosado (Charles) and Randy L. Bolton; her five grandchildren—Brooke (Chris), Kyle, Carlos, India, and Ariana—who were her pride and joy; and her two great-grandchildren, Adonis and Shon David, who brought her endless happiness.
Wilma’s funeral service is Thursday, January 9th, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Arch L. Heady and Son Southern Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens West immediately following the funeral service.
