Alfred Peder Hansen

Alfred Hansen, age 82, died peacefully in his home in Loveland, CO on July 2, 2021. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 18, 1939. After graduating from Merchantville High School in Merchantville, NJ, Al joined the Army Reserves, serving from 1959 to 1965. He married the love of his life, Norma Hansen (Brandvik), in 1960. In 1975, they loaded up their daughters and pet rabbit into a blue Volkswagen van and moved from New Jersey to Colorado – building a wonderful life here together. Last year they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Sharon Hansen, Norma Hansen (Alan Bradley), Ellen Sanderson (Jeff Sanderson), four grandchildren, Sam Hansen, Hanne Hansen, Kellie Hamlet (Tanner Hamlet), Ashley Sanderson and three great-grandchildren, Warren, Faith and Nova.

Al’s family filled his heart. He will be missed for his stories, jokes, fierce loyalty, and love.

A memorial service and reception will be held on August 6, 2021 at 11:00AM at Hunter Chapel, Allnut Funeral Home, 2100 N Lincoln Ave in Loveland, CO.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to Pathways Hospice in Fort Collins, CO or to the Lupus Foundation of America.

Alfred Hansen was my best friend. I met him when he was 11 and I was 12 years old. He was my Best man at our wedding. My son David was the ring bearer at His and Norma’s wedding. I loved him like a brother. He will be missed by anyone who knew him.
