Charles “Bud” George Vivion III, born January 13, 1957, passed away on March 31, 2026, after a long and hard fought battle with cancer. A beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle, Bud touched the lives of all who knew him with his warm spirit, and deep appreciation for the world around him.
Bud grew up in Laramie, Wyoming, where he was surrounded by the rugged beauty of the Snowy Range Mountains. His summers were spent working alongside his cousins at the Vivion family’s Leo Sheep Company and Rocky Mountain Sheep Company — memories he cherished throughout his life. The mountains became his sanctuary, where he loved camping, fishing, and breathing in the crisp, cold Wyoming air.
He spent the majority of his professional life in the hotel industry before boldly stepping into a new career with a restaurant franchise. Dedicated and hardworking, Bud built a second career he was truly proud of. In recent years, he embraced retirement and devoted his time to what mattered most: his children, grandchildren, and his loyal fur-baby, Izzy. Evenings on his back porch, watching the sun set behind the snow-capped Rockies, were among his greatest joys.
Bud was preceded in death by his father, Charles George Vivion Jr. He is survived by his mother, Betty Henry-Vivion; his sisters, Sherry Eklund and Janette Dolmseth; his children, Charles George Vivion IV, Brittni Warren, and Kirstie Knight; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family who will carry his memory forward. His presence will be deeply missed, but his love, stories, and the mountain air he adored will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
