Francine “Fran” Phipps believed in living life to the fullest, and that’s exactly what she did. Whether it was taking in a concert with her beloved husband Wayne, riding horses through the mountains she called home or laughing with her girlfriends on a beach, Fran made it a point to enjoy every moment she was given.
Fran embarked on a final journey, Wednesday, March 5, 2025, passing away quietly at home in her sleep next to her husband of 36 years.
Fran was born July 16, 1949 in White Plains, N.Y. She graduated from Colorado University then spent a lifetime in sales and marketing. She called Berthoud, Colo. home since 1995. Fran enjoyed horseback riding, traveling, her cherished pets, volunteering for local charities and spending time with her wonderful family and friends.
In addition to Wayne, she leaves behind her sister Leslie (Neville Woodruff) Schiller, of Sequim, Wash.; brothers-in-law Gary (Glenda) Phipps, of Whitman, Neb.; Jim (Christi) Hardy, of Mullen, Neb.; nieces and nephews Elissa Hardy, of Denver, Colo.; Crystal Hardy, of Mullen, Robert Hardy, of North Platte, Neb.; Heather (Erick) Johnson, of North Platte; Brett (Jordyn) Phipps, of Whitman, and Wade (Jamie) Phipps, of Jay Em, Wyo.; dear friends Dale and Dana Hermanson, of Berthoud, as well as many great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Fran was preceded in death by her father, Fred Schiller; mother, Shirley Goltz, and sister-in-law, Lois Hardy.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, it’s asked that memorials be made to the Hearts and Horses Therapeutic Riding Center of Loveland or Harley’s Dream in Berthoud in her honor.
