Michael “Mike” Allen Williams, 47, passed away in his sleep on December 24, 2021.
Mike was the oldest child born to James “Jim” and Kathleen “Katie” Williams. Mike and his family spent most of his childhood years living in Colorado Springs. Growing up, Mike excelled at baseball and football. He also enjoyed outdoor pursuits such as hunting and fishing. Mike carried forward a lifelong friendship with Brian. We are very grateful that Mike and Brian had spent some quality time together recently.
Mike moved to Denver in early adulthood and met his wife, Liska, when they were both 21. Married in 1999, they have a son, Evan (20). It was Mike’s pride, joy, and honor to raise Evan into the man he is becoming.
Mike had a lengthy career in the finance industry, ending with his last ten-plus years at Nutrien. Nutrien gave Mike, Liska, and Evan the opportunity of a lifetime to transfer to Melbourne, Australia, from May 2018 through January 2021. The family truly enjoyed their time in Australia. Mike leaves behind some good friendships, including Geoff, Sam and his family, and Rob.
Mike, Liska, and Evan were happy to return to Colorado this year and rekindle old friendships and move forward in careers and school. The family appreciates long-term friendships with the Bever and Holguin families. Mike and Liska were newly ‘empty-nested’ and were figuring out how to make the most of this next stage of life. Mike continued to enjoy hobbies such as being outdoors, cooking barbecue, and traveling the world with family.
His father, Jim, precedes Mike in death. Mike is survived by his wife Liska and son Evan; his mother Katie; his sister Carrie and her family Patrick and Avery; his brother Dan and his family Joanna, Aidan, Sydney, and Kylie. Mike also leaves behind numerous friends and colleagues. He will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 10:00 am at Allnutt Funeral Service, Hunter Chapel in Loveland.
