

Oscar Ramirez of Loveland, Colorado passed away on November 1, 2024 at Pathways Hospice Care in Loveland, Colorado. He was surrounded by his loving wife, Josie and close family throughout his last days.
He was born on September 23, 1940 to Pedro and Thelma Ramirez in San Diego, Texas. He grew up in Alice, Texas where he graduated from high school and later graduated from college at Texas A&M University in Kingsville, Texas where he earned a degree in biology with a minor in chemistry.
Oscar relocated to Corpus Christi, Texas where he began a lifelong career in Medical Laboratory Technology at Christus Spohn Hospital. He married his college sweetheart, Maria Magdalena (Maggie) Rivas and together they raised three lovely children; Leatriz Marie Matthews, Oscar Xavier Ramirez and Lisa Ann Ramirez. He lost his first wife, Maggie, to cancer in 2009.
Shortly thereafter, Oscar remarried in 2011 to Josie Roff and together they moved to Loveland, Colorado where they enjoyed bowling, fishing, and camping in the mountains.
Oscar was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where he was active in the Knights of Columbus organization.
In addition to both his parents, Oscar is preceded in death by his first wife Maggie Ramirez, his brothers Arnoldo Ramirez and Ronaldo Ramirez, and sisters Angelina Garcia and Aida Herrera. He is survived by his sister Thelma Garza (Abelardo), his three children, Leatriz Marie Matthews (Steve), Oscar Xavier Ramirez (Cindy) and Lisa Ann Ramirez (Brian) and stepdaughter Marianne Salinas (Michael), eight grandchildren, Kelsey Valentine (Tyler), Marisa Steele (Robert), Mitchell Matthews, Kevin Matthews, Ryan Ramirez and Maggie Harrison, and step grandchildren Sebastian Salinas and Annika Salinas, three great grandchildren, Landon Valentine, Troy Valentine, and Kendall Valentine (with another future great grandchild on the way) and his loving wife and best friend, Josie.
