Mom’s Celebration of Life Memorial Service is this Saturday, September 19, 2020 beginning at 6 p.m. MDT, during dusk, to honor her love of sunsets.
We will gather at the north end of Parish Park located at 11 Raymond Pl, Johnstown, CO 80534, for a simple service and for sharing memories of our experiences with Mom.
In light of the risk of COVID-19, we understand that you may not be able to attend. Therefore, we will be broadcasting the Celebration of Life LIVE on Facebook from Mom’s Facebook page. We will also be creating a memorial video, with the expertise and assistance from Shad Rhoades, to allow everyone to participate.
We will start the Facebook LIVE feed a few minutes prior to 6pm to allow everyone to get settled and ready.
If you would like to participate in the memorial video please create a 3-minute or less video clip on a smart phone telling a memory or something about Mom. Attach the video as a message or create a link and send to Cousin Tom at 504.982.0072 or [email protected]. If you have trouble sending the video, call Tom.
Videos need to be submitted by September 25.
Due to the current COVID situation and my love for every single one of you, we will be adhering to physical distancing and requiring that everyone wear a mask. To not touch you will be sooo difficult for me because I am a hugger, but I would feel so much better if you hugged me from 10 feet away. Your presence and the memorial video are big hugs and I thank you. We will have extra masks available if you forget yours.
Parish Park has a nice grassy open space to allow everyone to be 10 feet apart from each other. Please bring your own lawn chair to sit on, we will have a few if you do not have one. Tom will be up front with the microphone. When we start sharing stories, those who wish to speak will come up and speak in the microphone. At that point you may take your mask off on so that we can hear you clearly. We will have wipes for you to wipe the microphone after you talk.
There are limiting factors in having a graveside ceremony. We will be having a small family and friend’s ceremony in the coming week at Mountain View Memorial Park in Boulder, CO where Mom will be near her parents, grandparents and aunt and uncle. In the coming month, we will have a family only ceremony at Fort Logan Cemetery where Patricia will be joined with her love, RJ.
Cheers to My Mom!
Lexi
