He was born in Gardiner, Maine on June 3, 1934 to Robert and Lillian (Frazier) Clements. George spent his early years on the east coast. On January 2, 1954, he married Marie A. Murphy while serving in the United States Air Force. After serving in the Air Force, George went on to a long career with United Airlines where he got to continue working with planes and to enjoy his love of flying.
In 1966, United Airlines transferred the family to San Francisco, California where he worked as a flight dispatcher for many years. George loved the Bay Area and truly enjoyed being a Californian.
George’s other love was working with his hands and woodworking. He earned his General Contractors license and designed, built and installed extraordinary kitchens and baths. There really wasn’t anything he couldn’t do if he put his mind to it.
George and Marie retired to Hidden Valley Lake, CA in 2000 where they met so many great people and made wonderful friends.
He and Marie enjoyed being members of the Good Sam Club and got to travel extensively in their RV. They traveled all over the US and Canada and made more amazing friends along the way. He was always quick with a smile, quick to offer a hand to others and known for his great sense of humor. He was an avid bowler and loved all sports.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He truly touched the lives of all who knew him.
He will be greatly missed, but will forever remain in our hearts. He leaves a legacy of amazing memories and his joy for life will serve as a true testament of his belief of living life to the fullest.
