Alicia Flores Cavazos, born on March 19, 1950, in Lamesa, Texas, passed away on July 8, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. Known for her exceptional cooking and her love of laughter, Alicia brought joy and a unique spark to the lives of those around her. Her playful nature was often expressed through her humorous pinching and scratching, a sign of her affection.
Alicia cherished her family deeply, evident in her regular Monday morning breakfast dates with her siblings and the close bonds she maintained with her extensive family. She also had a passion for plants and jewelry, which reflected her appreciation for beauty and nature.
Alicia leaves behind a loving husband, Gilbert Cavazos of Lubbock, Texas and was a beloved mother to Ines Flores of Inidiana, Peter and Fernando Flores of Lubbock, Ray (Michele) Flores of Nebraska, Elvia (Manuel) Rojas of Dumas, Yolanda (Jesus) Garza of Edinburg, Patricia (George) Ramirez of Aspermont, and Elizabeth (Toby) Wingrove of Iowa. She was a cherished sister to Tom, Jessie, Rosa, Judy, and Mary. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren; Issac, Sara, Jared, Eunice, Adam, Noah, Seth, Vanessa Vance, Marcus, Fernando, Kimberly, Ana, Destiny, Keith, Ernie, Katie, Aaron, Brandon, Jasmine, Isaiah, Christy, Simon, Amber-Rose, Angel, and Zaeley and 25 great-grandchildren, alongside numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Estanislado and Tomasa Flores; her brothers Joe, Pablo, Tony, Luis and Raymond, sister; Mary Flores; and great-grandson Eli Serrano.
Alicia's life was a testament to her love for her family, her culinary skills, and her ability to make every interaction with her a memorable one. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
