Ann Slaton French, 79, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014 in Lubbock. She was born May 1, 1935 in Morenci, Arizona to John and Georgia (Chapman) Slaton and was later adopted by Carl and Cora Slaton who was the current mayor of Lubbock. Ann moved to Lubbock in 1940 and graduated from Lubbock High in 1953 where she designed the Band uniforms. She married the love of her life Don French in 1954. Ann’s favorite hobby was Art and Book collecting. She is survived by her husband Don French; children, Rieta and Gary Bloys, Charles and Susan French of Lubbock; grandchildren, Shannon and Anthony Harris of Little Rock, Arkansas; and great grandchildren, Jordan and Taylor Harris. The family would like to thank the staff at Lakeside Nursing Home for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Lubbock.
