Barbara M. Jones

Barbara M. Jones, 77, of Lubbock passed away March 4, 2013. She was born September 24, 1935 in Los Angeles, CA. Barbara graduated from Clayton High School and later received her BS in Nursing from West Texas University in Canyon. She married the love of her life, Wilfred E. Jones, on September 13, 1958. Barbara succeeded in her nursing career at facilities such as Covenant Hospital, UMC, Lubbock State School, and South Plains College. She was a former member of the Lubbock Area Square, Round Dance Federation, and Tuesday Rounds Dance Club. Barbara enjoyed square dancing, worshipping at St. Luke’s Methodist Church, and was an avid quilter. She is preceded in death by her husband; Wilfred E. Jones (2001), parents; Everett and Anna Smithson, sister; Delores Layton, brother; Joe Arthur Smithson, and son-in-law; Ralph Herzog. Survivors include children; C.J. Locknane of Lubbock, Terresa Herzog of Lubbock, DeDe Barnes (Terry) of Pampa, TX, and William Jones (Kathleen) of Plano, TX. Grandchildren; Barbara Cason (Tim) of Lubbock, Chance Lochnane of Lubbock, Justin Barnes (Sarah) of the Woodlands, TX, Robert Tudor of Lubbock, Trace Locknane of Austin, Ryan Barnes (Briana) of Amarillo, Ashleigh Jones of Lubbock, Andrew Jones of Abilene, Justin Collier (Angela) of Roswell, NM, Nancy Herzog of Lubbock, and Stephen Herzog (Angelica) of Lubbock. Eleven great-grandchildren, loved ones, and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 6th at Resthaven Funeral Home from 7- 9:30pm. Graveside Service will be Thursday, March 7th at Resthaven Memorial Park at 10:00am.
