He was born in Dallas, TX August 17, 1927, to Ben and Gladys Harrison. Ben graduated from High School in Dallas, TX and attended Texas A&M University. He left Texas A&M to serve in the Coast Guard during WWII. Upon returning from the war, he graduated from Southern Methodist University with a degree in Geology. He pursued graduate studies at the University of Oklahoma before staring work in the South Texas Oil Field.
Ben received the opportunity to go to work for the FBI where he had a long career. Ben was assigned to the Chicago office where he met Marilou Villemur. Ben married Marilou on August 29, 1953, in Chicago. Ben and Marilou raised their two children in Texarkana, TX and Lubbock, TX. After retirement from the FBI Ben continued his education at Texas Tech University where he received his Master of Science in Geophysics. He taught in the Geology Department at Texas Tech University for 10 years.
Ben loved to travel, play, and watch golf and read books, above all he loved his wife Marilou of 63 years, daughter Barbara and husband Dave, son Scott and wife Brenda and his five grandchildren Keenan Voit and wife Lindsay, Hal Harrison and wife Kelli, Hunter Harrison and wife Katie, Kelsey Moakler and husband Brad and Hogan Harrison, and his great grandchildren Whitley, Mason, Chesney, Carsen, Hattie, Benjamin, Ben and Parker.
Ben was a member of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church since 1962.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Marilou.
