Services for Bernie G. Wright, 75, of Lubbock, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 16, 2010 in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Mr. Wright passed away on Saturday, April 10th.
Bernie was born on December 29, 1934 in Altus, OK to Calvin and Vera Wright. He was raised in Petty and attended schools in New Home. He was a veteran of the U.S Army. He married Bettye Ruth Berry in 1973. She preceded him in death in 2001. He retired from Civil Service at Reese AFB. He was a member of the Lubbock Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Trey Lynn Wright-Varner of Lubbock, and Kim Slagle of Corrales, NM; one son, Steven G. Wright, of Beeville; one brother, Calvin “Sonny” Wright of Lubbock; one sister, Myrle Allison of Lubbock; and six grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Lubbock Seventh Day Adventist Church.
