Carlton Wanner Devlin

Carlton W. Devlin, 62, of Plano, Texas, passed from this life on September 18, 2021, in Plano, Texas. He was born, the youngest of three children, to USAF Major, Wallace L. Devlin and Carrye Jo Devlin on November 8, 1958 in El Paso, Texas. He lived on Guam for the first three years of his life, while his father was stationed at Anderson Air Force Base. Returning to the continental United States and Lubbock, Texas, Carlton attended Lubbock Public Schools, graduating from Monterey High School. In 1984, he graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Management Information Systems from the College of Business Administration.

Following graduation, he worked for Phoenix Professional Solutions in Lubbock as a computer programmer. He then joined the staff at the Lubbock County Courthouse in the information systems department. He later began work for Texas Instruments information systems in Lubbock, later transferring to the Dallas Offices. He was employed at Texas Instruments for more than 30 years and was looking forward to retirement.

Carlton enjoyed videography, volunteering to be the videographer for his friends’ occasions. He had taken up learning to play the guitar again. He enjoyed vintage cars, and vintage stereo equipment, especially speakers. He was involved with his sons’ Boy Scout troop, helping lead them to the Eagle designation.

In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was predeceased by his wife, Alisha Winters Devlin in 2016. Survivors include his three children: Haley C. Devlin of Lubbock, Trevor L. Devlin of Plano, and Nathaniel J. Devlin of Plano; and two sisters, Cassandra L. Henry (Alan) of Lubbock and Sharolyn Kay Dudley (John) of Lubbock; plus, many nieces, nephews and friends. Chrissy, a beloved Wheaton Terrier, was also a special companion to him and the family in later years.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022, at 1 p.m. in Resthaven Memorial Chapel, Lubbock, Texas. Memorials to Carlton may be made to the non-profit of your choice.
