Caroline Gonzales, 79, passed away on Saturday evening February 5th, 2022. She was born on February 14th, 1942, in El Campo, Texas to Fransisco and Gertrude Hernandez. Caroline was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed dearly by all who knew her. She was a resident of Lubbock, Texas for most of her life. Caroline loved to spend her free time at the casinos and at bingo. She was our “Bingo Queen”.
Preceding in death are her parents Florencio and Gertrude Cuellar, and her brothers Pete Hernandez and JR. Cuellar. Caroline is survived by her seven siblings Joe, Ellen, Emilio, Clara, Roy, Jeannette, and Nick. She left behind eight children, Paul Garza, MaryAnn Perez, Sylvia Alonzo, Teresa Lopez, Linda Martinez, Amy Howard, Elizabeth Garcia, and Jesse Garcia. She had twenty-three grandchildren, Nicole, Erica, Derick, Tim, John Henry, Destiny, Tabetha, Jessica, Michael Ed, Micah, Rico, Andrew, Mariah, Desiree, Anthony, Matthew, Alonzo, Brittany, Jordan, Persophone, Jeremiah, Trinity, and Jesse James and twenty-three great grandchildren. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Services for Caroline will be held on Saturday, February 12th, 2022, at 1:00pm at Resthaven. Friends are invited for a time of fellowship and remembrance from 2:30pm to 5:30pm on Friday, February 11th, 2022, in Resthaven Funeral Home Abbey Chapel. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, February 12th, 2022, from 10:30AM to 12:30PM in Resthaven Funeral Home Abbey Chapel.
