

Catherine was born March 25, 1923 in Rawlins, Wyoming, daughter of Oliver and Helga (Johnson) Crum. She married L. B. Jones in Lubbock on March 19th 1950.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, parents and brothers Clarence, Kenneth and Earl.
Catherine was an Army nurse serving during WWII, a graduate of St. Luke’s Episcopal in Denver, 1945. She then worked for Dr. Malone’s Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Practice in Lubbock and then at Methodist Hospital. An accomplished pianist, Catherine played at numerous gatherings and events as a young woman in Rawlins and then was the Music Worship Director of Bethany Christian Church in Lubbock in the 60’s and 70’s.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Martha Gooding and husband John of Austin, TX; Laura Mortimer and husband Stan of Albuquerque, N.M.; and Amy Lewis and husband Michael of Lubbock. She has seven grandchildren: John Gooding III (Brittainy) of Houston, TX and Jason Gooding of Austin, Michael, Colin and Amanda Mortimer of Albuquerque, N.M., and Audra and Jessica Lewis of Lubbock. She is also survived by nephews Gary Crum of Laramie, Wyoming, Joe Crum of Austin and Mike Crum of Virginia.
Celebration of life services will be held at 1pm, Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with Charles Carman officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm, Friday, June 8, 2012 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
