Formerly of Seaford, Long Island he grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He was married to Letty Tepper for 48 years.
Charlie was an Army veteran of the Korean War and then worked as a motorman for the Mass Transit Authority in New York City, where he retired. In Lubbock he was a member of Southcrest Baptist Church and VFW Post 2466.
Charles is survived by his wife Letty, son Carl H. Tepper, daughter-in-law Robyn Tepper and his beloved granddaughter Claudia H. Tepper. He also leaves behind his family in New York; Jim and Helen Georgoudes, niece Lynn and Tom Anderson and their twins James and Jenna, nephew James and Michelle Georgoudes and their girls Kathy and Alex, cousin Alma Rodriguez, niece Lisa and Mark Phillips, and their daughters Naval Lt. Elspeth Phillips and Katherine Phillips.
Uncle Charlie was loved by his family, friends, and all who came into contact with him. He was a loving husband, active father, doting grandfather, and a hard worker. Most importantly he was an ambassador for Christ throughout his life and passionate about the subject of Judaism and the church. Church leaders would often consult with him on the issue.
The Tepper Family expresses their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and medical staff at UMC, EMT's, and Odyssey Hospice staff who showed so much care and professionalism for so long. We are truly blessed in Lubbock.
A memorial service will be on Saturday, December 28th at 11AM at Southcrest Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to The Salvation Army, Lubbock Corp.
