Charles was one of 14 siblings, growing up in a large and close-knit family, and continued to create a legacy of love and laughter throughout his life.
He is survived by his two children, Tammie King and Janet Pacheco; three grandchildren, Damien Sherrill, Krysta Lamb, and Amanda King; as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy.
A proud and hardworking man, Charles thrived in various successful businesses throughout his life, including a pump service, real estate ventures, and his greatest passion – owning and working at his beloved mechanic shop. His dedication and skill in these trades were admired by many.
Charles also took great pride in his role as Chief of the West Carlisle Volunteer Fire Department, a position where his leadership and commitment to the community made a lasting impact. In addition to his professional success, he was known for his warmth, kindness, and a great sense of humor, often sharing jokes that made everyone around him laugh and smile.
He loved all the dogs he had throughout his life, but his two most recent companions, Lucky Lady and Sweet Pea, held a special place in his heart.
With a family that spans generations and a career built on hard work and service to others, Charles leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and laughter. His spirit will be missed by his family, friends, and the many who were fortunate enough to know him.
His service will be held to honor his memory Monday, March 3rd, at 2:00 pm at the Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock, Tx. The viewing will be the same day, at 12:00 pm.
You will forever be in our hearts, dad, papa, Charles.
