

Dr. Chase Jennings Etcheverry, 46, passed away on Wednesday, July 20th in Sundown, Texas. Chase was a Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD) who dedicated much of his practice to working with the underserved and addiction populations.
Chase was born in Clovis, New Mexico on January 2, 1970. He spent his childhood between Lubbock, TX and Lovington, NM, graduating from Lubbock High School in 1988. He was a Texas Tech graduate who went on to earn his medical license in 2012 from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Arizona. He is survived by his two children, Chaeli Zayn and Caden Cash; his step-children, Laken Hughes and Justin Hughes; his step-mother, Nancy Etcheverry of Lovington, NM; his step-father, Joe Pate, and his wife Lu of Littlefield, TX; his biological parents Brenda Lea of Brooks, Oregon and Michael Johnson of Eugene, Oregon; and his many brothers and sisters, Jeni Etcheverry Moore, Lance Etcheverry, Jay Pate, Bruce Pate, Lisa Pate, Dell Morgan, Nancy Boyd, Melissa Boyd, Kathi Morgan Blackburn, Kristy Pasak-Dees, Brandon Pasak, Jesse Johnson, Michael Johnson and Scott Johnson. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sandy Pate, his father, Johnny Etcheverry, and his brother and sister, Mark Pate and Kristin Pate.
Chase was a man who wore his heart on his sleeve. He loved spending time with his children -- they were the love of his life. His friends remember his unique sense of humor, his thoughtfulness towards those in a hard place and his love to challenge everyday thinking. Chase loved the opportunity to be there for others, to help them heal and find solace in their life journey. For this, those left behind will always be blessed.
