Cheryl Ann (Ford) Winsor, 44, passed away on November 25, 2025, at Covenant Lubbock Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Born on July 15, 1981, in Lamesa, Texas, Cheryl spent most of her life in Lubbock, where she built a beautiful life rooted in compassion, family, and service to others. She was an organ donor, a final act of generosity that reflected the heart she carried throughout her life.
Cheryl was born to Kenneth and Sharon Ford Wallace and grew up alongside her two older sisters, Annette Emery and Dana Gonzales, with whom she shared a lifelong bond. In May 2005, she married the love of her life, Jason Winsor, and together they raised four children: Kassidy, Zachary, Kennedy, and Ryliegh, who were her greatest pride and joy. Cheryl also leaves behind her two beloved dogs, Hulk and Lucy “Shredder,” who never left her side and never stopped giving her headaches, even after the longest days.
A dedicated nurse of 15 years, Cheryl began her career after earning her Associate Degree in Nursing from South Plains College in 2010, followed by her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nursing from West Texas A&M University in 2014. She served her community with compassion, skill, and unwavering dedication. Her experience included roles as a Med Aide at Mackenzie House (2001–2003), Administrative Secretary at Women’s Protective Services (2003–2006), and Nurse Tech/Nurse at Covenant Health System (2009–2015). For the past decade, Cheryl worked with Interim HealthCare Lubbock, where she became known for her calm presence, exceptional care, and ability to make every patient feel seen and supported.
Cheryl’s life outside of work was filled with creativity, warmth, and adventure. She loved to cook— collecting every gadget imaginable and mastering recipes that she eagerly shared with neighbors, friends, and family. She enjoyed riding “backpack” on Jason’s motorcycle, always embracing the open road and the simple joy of being together. Cheryl also cherished traveling with her family and created memories on trips across the United States that her loved ones will forever hold close.
Cheryl’s warmth, humor, generosity, and vibrant spirit made an impression on everyone who knew her. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched, the family she so deeply loved, and the kindness she shared freely.
A service honoring her life will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, 6025 82nd St., Lubbock, Texas, with a reception to follow.
