Services for Clovia Zephyr Harlan, 90, of Lovington, New Mexico, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2023 at the Resthaven Chapel in Lubbock, Texas, with the Reverend Chris Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Clovia passed away on September 11, 2023 in Lovington, New Mexico. She was born on November 10, 1932 in Canton, Texas to John Henry and Ida Irene Buchanan. Clovia had two daughters, Lawanna and Vickie and one son, Warren with her first husband J. W. Harlan.
Clovia loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family and friends. She loved her garden, especially her roses. She grew strawberries every year and usually had a crop of delicious peaches. Clovia had a long career as a beautician and spent most of those years living and working in Lubbock, Texas. She also had a wonderful sense of humor and had a strong faith in Church of Christ.
Clovia is survived by two daughters, Lawanna Holland and her husband Bill of Roswell, New Mexico and Vickie Pazuros and her husband Nick of Lovington, New Mexico; one son, Warren Harlan and his spouse Chris Kronheimer of Las Vegas, Nevada; two granddaughters, Becki Duncan of Denver, Colorado and Brittany Garcia and her husband Jose of Lovington, New Mexico; five grandsons: Larry Bruce Baker Jr. and his wife Chasiti of Midland, Texas, Justin Baker of Artesia, New Mexico, Jared Baker of Artesia, New Mexico, and Larame Burress and his wife Nickie of Abilene, Texas; one sister-in-law, Yvonne Buchanan of Lubbock, Texas; 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Clovia was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ida Buchanan and three brothers: Orbin (Buddy) Buchanan, Carman Buchanan and Donald (Micky) Buchanan.
The family would like to recognize all of the staff and residents of the Lovington Healthcare Center for all of the love and care Clovia received while in their care.
