Corry B. McSpadden Jr.

He graduated from Denton High School and attended North Texas State College. C.B. received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1940 and a Master of Science degree in1950. While attending college he met and later married Agnes Louise Simms of Plainview, Texas. They lived in Lubbock, Texas for over 50 years. He relocated to Shawnee, Oklahoma in 2004.

C.B. moved to Lubbock from Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1952 and was a teacher at Carol Thompson Jr. High. When Monterey High School opened in 1958, he transferred and taught Industrial Arts and Mechanical Drawing. He received the Certificate of Honor from the Texas Industrial Arts Association in 1978. When Coronado High School opened he transferred and taught Drafting, Mechanical drawing until his retirement.

C.B. was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church form more than 50 years. His passions included golf, book binding, puppetry and reading.

C.B. was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Agnes Louise McSpadden. He is survived by one son, Corry McSpadden III, two grandchildren, Corry Bryan McSpadden of Pearland, Texas and Marlo Ellen Riche of Goldthwatte, Texas. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.

C.B. will lie in state Thursday afternoon in Resthaven Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 24, 2012 at 9:30 am at Resthaven Memorial Park.
