Curtis Christopher

Curtis Christopher of Ingram, TX passed away on September 9, 2023. He was born on August 30, 1943 to Lloyd and Ola Mae (Riddle) Christopher of Wilson, TX. After graduation, Curtis married Earlene Fields of Wilson.

He began a career with Piggly Wiggly and then went on to work for United Supermarkets where he retired after 42 years in grocery business. Curtis enjoyed being a part of the United family and was very passionate about helping people.

Curtis became a private pilot at the age of 25 in Dimmitt, TX. He enjoyed flying to airshows and playing golf.

He married Carolyn Yocom in Brownfield on April 30, 1982. For some time, Curtis had wanted to live in the Hill Country. Around the same time as he was retiring and opportunity came up that allowed them to move.

Curtis was an example of how kindness touches peoples as he saw something good in everyone he met. He had a kind spirit and patience to deal with any situation.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; four children: Sandie Christopher Garcia of Lubbock, TX, Randy (Connie) Christopher or Whitewright, TX, Shane (Madaleine) Yocom of San Tan Valley, AZ, and Matt (Monica) Yocom of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren: Kyle Christopher, Kely Kitchens, Andy Garcia, Alexis Garcia, Henry Yocom; seven great-grandchildren; six siblings: Robert (Deana) Christopher, Mary Roe, Liz Williams, Elaine (John) Traugott, Kathy (Tim) Barta, Marilyn Rodriguez; brother-in-law's, Gary (Dana) Kelley and Bruce Kelley; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family invites you to join them as they celebrate his life on Friday, September 15, 2023 with a 1pm Chapel Service in Resthaven Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial. Please visit the online guest book for shared memories.
