Don Osborne

Funeral services for Don Osborne, 92, of Lubbock will be at 1:30 pm on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at First Christian Church Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Mr. Osborne passed away on Wednesday, April 18th.

Don was born on November 1, 1919 in Mineral Wells, TX to James Leonard and Ada Battern Osborne. He served in the US Army Air Corps from 1942-45. He married Juanita Magee in 1936. They had three children, Mack, David, and Cindy.

Don was raised on a dairy farm and worked for the US Postal Service. He moved to Lubbock in 1951 where he found his passion in real estate. He was a leader in local, state and national real estate orgainzations. He served on various real estate boards and committees on many levels. He owned and operated The Osborne Company Realtors and Insurors. He was also a longtime Rotarian.

He married Mary Summerlin in 1975. They were members of First Christian Church where he served as an elder.

Don was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita, his second wife Mary, as well as his son, Mack.

Survivors include a son, David and wife Kathy of Hurst, TX; a daughter, Cindy and husband Jim Darilek of Austin; a daughter-in-law, Alisan Osborne of Lubbock; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 5-7 pm.
