He was born on October 20, 1937 in Mineral Wells, Texas to Don and Juanita Osborne. The family moved to Lubbock in 1951. He attended O.L. Slaton Jr. High and Lubbock High School where he was a yell leader and a member of the Drama Club and Choir. He attended Abilene Christian University and then joined the United States Marine Corps in 1957. He was honorably discharged in 1963 as a Corporal. He continued his education at Texas Tech University. He joined his father at the Osborne Co. Realtors. He was a certified Real Estate Broker, member of the Lubbock Country Club, Southwest Rotary, Lubbock Board of Realtors and a long time member of the Broadway Church of Christ.
He married Alisan Turner on August 29, 1980. She was the love of his life. They enjoyed traveling and were avid supportors of Texas Tech sports. They were each other’s best friend and were rarely apart. Mack’s second love was golf, even to the point of teaching his wife to play. He also spent many hours in the kitchen experimenting and became quite a good cook. Mack always had an impish glint in his eyes and a dry sense of humor which could always make others laugh.
He is survived by his loving wife, Alisan Osborne; his father, Don Osborne of Lubbock, a brother, David Osborne and his wife Kathy of Hurst; a sister, Cindy Darilek and her husband Jim of Austin, a son, Chris Osborne and his wife Tricia of Georgetown, a daughter, Melissa Wilson and her husband Chris of Bonham. He was a loving Dad-o to his six grandchildren, Emalee and Carter Osborne and Jacob, Rachel, Joshua and Rebecca Wilson. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Kaye Parten and her husband Terry of Lubbock, a sister –in-law, Michal Hodges and her husband Scott of Grand Prairie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He loved his family, his God, and living life to the fullest. He will be missed dearly by all who loved him.
