Donna Marie Rose Hunt

She was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Rose, and her beloved husband of 51 years, Prof. Jerry Hunt. She is survived by children Douglas Hunt (Linda) of St. Louis, MO, Holly Darling of San Antonio, and Robin Hunt of Dallas; and grandchildren Adrienne Hunt and Hunter Darling.

After raising her three children, Donna earned a bachelor’s degree in 1980 from Southern Illinois University and was a human resources manager for a number of years. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Jerry, and provided important behind-the-scenes support for his academic career; they were partners in every sense of the word. She was a long-time, devoted member of and volunteer for Lakeridge United Methodist Church, and she continued her volunteer work with enthusiasm almost to the end even as her health failed. She was also a long-time member of the local Toastmasters International chapter and of the American Business Women’s Association. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, a friend to many, and will be very much missed.

Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Lakeridge United Methodist Church, services immediately following at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian Brownlow officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
