Donna Jean McGuire, age 69, of Lubbock, Texas went home to be with our Lord and Savior on her birthday Tuesday December 31, 2019. Donna worked over 20 years assisting numerous teachers at Overton and Bowie elementary in special education, library support, and in the cafeteria monitoring all grade levels. She was a foster parent to several MHMR individuals while supporting the needs and wants of her own family. She also donated her time, money, and heart to many organizations, churches, and charities such as VBS, the Lubbock DAV, ASPCA, Christians United for Israel, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospitals, and Charles Stanleys’ InTouch Missions. She served her community with an eager heart, and never ending joy. She never cared for recognition or even a thank you, these acts were simply a part of who she was and what she diligently demonstrated to anyone that was blessed to cross her path.
Donna was preceded in home going by her ex-husband Elex Junior McGuire and their son Elex Dedrick McGuire, as well as both of her parents. She is survived by a daughter Tiffany L McGuire Coleman, a sister Betty Ann Stephens, a great-grand daughter Nubia Reign Nabors McGuire, 6 grandchildren, 2 nieces, a nephew, 5 great nieces, 2 cousins, and a host of life long friends that she called family.
Donna loved fiercely and unconditionally, and her passion to serve will forever resonate in the hearts of those who received the gift of knowing her.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
