

Dorothy “Dot” Lincoln Cunningham, age 96, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026. She was born on August 30, 1929, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Eddie and Elsie Shook Dollar. Dot loved writing and was especially good at poems, telling stories and sending cards of encouragement. She spent years sharing the Gospel through World Bible School correspondence and her lifetime was a beautiful example of trust and faithfulness to the Lord. Her joyful personality and wonderful sense of humor brought laughter and light to those she was around.
Dot was first married to C.W. “Abe” Lincoln on December 10, 1949. Together they welcomed two children, Steve Lincoln and Becky Epperson. She later married Normand Gibson on November 10, 1997, and after his passing, she found companionship again with Joe Cunningham, who she married on January 1, 2005 and whom she shared her later years.
Her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and extended family. Dot, who was lovingly called Gramsy, treasured every moment spent with them and took immense pride in watching her family grow through the generations. She is survived by her children, Steve Lincoln and Becky Epperson; her grandchildren, Kami Lincoln Charske and her husband Jeremy, Koby Lincoln and his wife Tory, Kori Lincoln Dollar and her husband Chris, Matt Lincoln, Aubrey Lincoln, Travis Epperson, and Cassie Epperson Randers and her husband T.J., ten great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and her dear sister-in-law Judy Lincoln McLeod and husband Wade. She was also greatly blessed by her cherished relationship with her stepsons and their families.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Elsie Dollar; her parents-in-law, Hudson and Lula Lincoln; her husbands, C.W. “Abe” Lincoln, Normand Gibson, and Joe Cunningham; her sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Ray McGlothlin; her brother, Dan Dollar; and her sister-in-law, Glenda Lincoln Wright. Though she experienced great loss in her life, she remained resilient, continuing to love deeply and live with grace.
Dot’s life was a beautiful example of love, devotion, and quiet strength. She leaves behind a family who loved her and a legacy that will continue to live on through them. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
