Dorothy was born on January 9, 1933, in Rotan, TX to Violet Weems Simpson and William Roy Gabel. On July 14, 1975, she was married to Edgar Lee Dennis in Lubbock TX.
Dorothy loved spending time with her family and her beloved Chihuahua, Molly.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda and husband, Marshall King of Ralls; three sons: Jimmie Jones and wife, Diane, David Jones, Roger Jones and wife, Brenda, all of Lubbock; a sister, Ruth Funderburg, of Uvalde, TX; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the physicians, nurses and staff of Covenant’s Surgical ICU 3 East wing for the excellent and compassionate care they took of our Dorothy.
