He is a veteran of Desert Storm and Shield. Following his action in the Middle East, he was stationed at Kaneohe Bay on Oahu.Eric lived his life to the fullest. Eric personally helped many people. His greatest desire was to help anyone who was genuinely in need, and he did it with unfailing confidence and a no-nonsense manner of “rules”. He’d say, “This is the way it’s going to be.” That statement, if followed by an agreement on the part of the other person, would lead to months and sometimes years of diligent work until they agreed the job had been accomplished. Eric’s heart was larger than life and he will be greatly missed by everyone who has known him.He is survived by his wife, Wendy Burch of Lubbock, TX; three daughters, Kaitlin, Kamron, Kedan Burch; brother, Edward Burch and wife, Kelly; father, Charles Edward Burch; mother, Loreta Jean Burch; sister, Elisa Haulk and husband, Ty; maternal grandmother, Oleta Hodges; in-laws, Ronnie and Truby Stamps; maternal grandmother in-law, Betty O'Keefe; sister-n-law, Sonnie Morris and husband, Andy; sister-in-law, Sandy Cox and husband, Kyle; and numerous nieces and nephews.Eric’s brother-in-law Ty Haulk describes Eric as “the most God-centered, stubborn, self-sufficient man he’s ever known. He had an unbreakable faith. Whatever he did was done with passion and sometimes people got their feelings hurt, but he always did things in good faith. If you were his friend, you were his friends for life.”Eric loved Wendy and his girls BIG as well as his friends.
