Edna Ahrens, 95, of Lubbock, took the hand of our Savior on March 16, 2013. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 7PM at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral service for Mrs. Ahrens will be Wednesday, March, 20, 2013 at 11AM at Posey Immanuel Lutheran Church in Slaton, Texas. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Edna was born and raised on the family farm east of Lubbock near Roosevelt. She was married for 58 years to the love of her life Weldon E. Ahrens. She worked in the payroll department at Sears for many years before retiring. Edna enjoyed quilting, traveling, and loved dogs. She, Weldon, and their dog would often travel in their camper to the gulf coast and various lakes where she would be quiltin’ while Weldon was out fishin’.
Edna is survived by her Son; James and wife Rebecca of Flower Mound, Texas, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren who live in Dallas and College Station., Texas.
