Grandfield, Oklahoma, to the late Andrew D and Martha Jones. At a young age, she moved with the
family to Weatherford, Texas and then to Ft. Worth, Texas Janie met Deloy Pickett (Deceased) and they
were married on March 27, 1948 They moved to Lubbock, Texas in 1951. They had one son, Randy
Deloy Pickett, (Deceased) born in 1953. Janie worked for the First National Bank of Lubbock for 25
years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and son and watching all sports on television and was a
huge Texas Rangers fan. She had a caring heart and contributed to many organizations and individuals
in Lubbock.
She is survived by a nephew, David Pickett and wife Julie and family of Layton, Utah; a niece, Billie
Owens and family of Aledo, Texas; as well as close friends Donna Dement, Jan Woolsey and David and
Lupe McLelland.
Janie requested that upon her death, there be no services and that she be immediately entombed next
to her husband and son at Resthaven Mausoleum. Please keep her in your prayers.
