

She received a Diploma from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Lubbock in 1958. She received her Bachelor of Science in Public Health Nursing from George Peabody College in 1962, a Master in Public Health from Tulane University in 1971 and her Doctor of Philosophy from Oklahoma State University in 1985. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Dr. Herriage had been an Assistant Professor at North Eastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, a Director of Nursing, Tuberculosis Control Department for the Texas Department of Health in Austin, and was an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas. She had also been an Associate Dean of the School of Nursing at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock. Dr. Herriage was a member of American Nurses Association, Texas Nurses Association, Texas Public Health Association, and Texas Rural Health Association. She was married to Eugene Bradford Herriage in 1962 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
She is survived by her sisters: Patricia Ann Starnes and husband Bobby, Jo Leslie Ginn and husband Phil, and sister in law, Patricia Buchanan. Also surviving her are nieces and nephews: Shera Crow, Mickey Day, Brian Buchanan, Beau Buchanan, Christopher Ginn, Bruce Buchanan, and Chelsea Echavarria, Great Nieces and nephews: Bradley Crow, Joe Crow, Noah Crow, Syrena Echavarria, Ezra Crow, Meagan Danner, Oyama Buchanan, Cellie Buchanan, Tasha
Buchanan, Tayla Buchanan, Tisha Buchanan, Cousins; Mary Helen Sanderlin, Scott Buchanan, Al Buchanan, and numerous other cousins, in-laws, colleagues and friends.
