Ellen was born on June 11, 1934 in Lawton, Oklahoma to the late George Winston and Cynthia (Curtis) Jones. At a young age her parents moved to Lubbock and she remained the rest of her life. She attended Lubbock High School. She worked as a clerk in the insurance industry for years and was even involved in a professional association related to the industry. She was very creative and enjoyed working with arts and crafts. She took a lot of pleasure from creating such beautiful things.
She had a deep faith and love for the Lord. She was a devoted member of Bethany Baptist Church and enjoyed attending on Sundays until her health would no longer permit. She not only loved the Lord but ensured that she gave her sons a spiritual foundation that included and night time devotion before they went to bed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers George and Alan Jones; and husband Finis Keele.
She is survived by her 2 sons, Timothy Hendricks (Maria), and Toby Hendricks; 1 brother, Claude Jones; 2 sisters, Claudia Thornton, and Carol Sveum; and a host of other relatives.
