Elmira dedicated her life to service and family. For 38 years, she worked in food service at the Lubbock State School, where her dedication and work ethic left a lasting impression on colleagues and those she served. Her commitment to her work reflected her generous spirit and unwavering sense of responsibility.
She was married to Rodolfo Martinez. After his passing she raised her four children. Elmira’s role as a mother was central to her life; she poured her heart into nurturing her family with love and strength. Though she faced the profound loss of her son Benjamin Martinez and grandson Gabriel Villalobos during her lifetime, Elmira remained a pillar of resilience and compassion.
Elmira will always be remembered for her kindness and big heart. She touched many lives with her warmth and generosity, leaving behind memories that will be cherished by all who knew her. Whether through a comforting meal or a listening ear, she made others feel seen and cared for.
In addition to her professional dedication and devotion to family, Elmira enjoyed playing pool—a pastime that brought joy and camaraderie into her life.
She is survived by her siblings: Sanacislo Guzman Jr. of Lubbock, Texas; Maria Jimenez of Garland, Texas; Ninfa Fraiser of Kemper, Texas; Olga Calderon of Temple, Texas; and Jimmy Guzman of Frisco, Texas.
