

Frances Jeanette Nix, 94, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. A lifelong resident of Lubbock, Frances was born on April 1, 1931, and remained deeply connected to her community throughout her life.
Frances graduated from Lubbock High School in 1947 and later earned an associate degree from Texas Tech University. Her professional journey began in the world of radio, where she worked as a secretary for KFYO Radio.
In 1951, Frances married Joe G. Nix, with whom she shared a loving 64 years of marriage and raised two children. Frances was a proud member of Hillcrest Country Club where she enjoyed many rounds of golf.
Family was at the heart of everything Frances did. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Stacy Nix and his wife Kecia, and Frank Nix; her grandchildren: Rebekah Granberry, Kyle Nix, Brett Nix, Allison Zachary, Brooklyn Jimenez, and Campbell Nix; and her great-grandchildren: Grayson, Annalise, Jack and Collins Zachary. Carter Ann, Marshall and Presley Nix, Lincoln Grandberry, Bodhi and Truitt Nix, Brooklyn Jimenez and Campbell Nix. . She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe G. Nix; her son, Franklin Nix; her parents, John and Irsyl Carpenter; and her brothers, James, Randall and Gayle Carpenter.
A woman of many passions, Frances found joy in gardening and playing the piano. Above all else, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Brookdale Monterey Memory Care and Bristol Hospice for their compassionate care during Frances’s final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in honor of Frances’s memory.
A funeral service for Frances will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 5740 West 19th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79407.
