Frances Dolorice Smith

Celebration of life of 97 years will be at 10 AM at Lake Ridge Chapel on Thursday January 29, 2026. She passed on Wednesday, January 21, in her home. Graveside services are scheduled for 12 PM Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Resthaven.

Frances Dee Smith was born on July 31, 1928, in Sweetwater, Texas to Glenn and Francis Thomas. She graduated from Sweetwater high school and attended Texas Tech. She married Roy W Smith in 1947. She worked for pioneer natural gas in Midland, Texas, and Texas Tech along with Monterey Baptist Church in Lubbock as a secretary. She was active in Choir for 50+ years along with Sarah’s class at Monterey Baptist. She enjoyed traveling in their RV with friends playing bridge, dominoes, and games.

Dee is survived by her sons, Steve C. Smith and wife Shirley, Sam W. Smith and wife Candace; son-in-law Gary L. Hall ; grandkids Jennifer Hinojosa and husband Nick, Amy Valdez and husband Jimmy, Lauren Smith, Ashley Mendoza and husband Arthur, Randy Douthitt and wife Jacey, Misty Douthitt and husband Shane, Laine

Smith and wife Casey, Milani N. Smith; 16 great grandkids and one great great grandson.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Roy W. Smith; parents Glen and Francis Thomas; her daughter Donna Hall, infant; son Terrel Glen; sister Joe Wicker; grandson Brett Shannon.

The family would like to thank Carol, Cooper, and Sheryl for their time spent caring for her.
