

Funeral services for Frank A. Stuart, 85, of Lubbock will be at 1:00 p.m. on February 1, 2014 at Resthaven Abbey Chapel with the Reverend John Ballard officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Frank passed away on January 27, 2014.
Frank was born in Tahoka, Texas on December 18, 1928. He graduated from Tahoka High School, Drawns Business College, and from Texas Tech University with a BBA degree in Accounting.
Frank was married to Louise Wheat Stuart on February 2, 1962, and though she preceded him in death on October 8, 2007, they will share their 52nd anniversary together on Sunday.
Frank was the Lubbock County Tax Assessor-Collector from 1978 until he retired in 1992. Earlier, he worked for years as a manager at Gibson’s Discount Store in Lubbock and as a bookkeeper for Mr. George Benson as well as for other area banks.
Frank was a Colonel in the Texas State Guard, a Thrice Illustrious Grand Master in the York Rite Masons, and attained the 32nd degree in the Scottish Rite Masons. He was also a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Lubbock, a former president of the Lubbock Knife and Fork Dinner Club, and a member of the Lubbock Downtown Lion’s Club.
Frank is survived by his son Franklin Stuart; daughter Susan Osborne and her husband Bob; daughter Donna Crelia; and son Bruce Crelia; grandchildren whom he helped raise, Angie Ritter McMillan, Chris Ritter and his wife Rachelle, and Brett Crelia; and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he cared for and dearly loved.
Frank is preceded in death by his wife Louise, parents, John Williams Franklin Stuart and Mary Elizabeth Reed Stuart, siblings Bill, Bula, Travis, Arteck, Erie, and Mary, and daughters Mary Crelia and Rita Crelia.
