Luther and Julia Browning. She married John Simpson Duke on January 3, 1940 in Morton, Texas. She was proceeded in death by her husband, John Simpson Duke; mother, Julia Ann Hurt Browning, her father, James Luther Browning; sisters, Ruth Walden, Edith Beckham, Gin Jones and brothers, Bud Browning, Floyd Browning and James Roy Browning. She is survived by two sisters, Mary Ann Lewis of Morton, Tx and Janie Newberry of Monahans, Tx; and also by her sons, Billy Joe Duke of Dallas, Tx, Jimmy Lynn Duke and daughter-in-law Karen Duke of Kingwood, Tx; two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 11:30 am Monday, December 22, 2014 at Resthaven Funeral Home. The 1:00 pm funeral will be followed by a graveside gathering. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to a charity or school. The family would also like to express their heartfelt love and gratitude to her dear friend and caregiver Renda Adkins.
