
She graduated from Monterey High School, Lubbock, TX in 1958. After graduation, she attended Jesse Lee's Hair Design and received her cosmetology license. It was during this time, she met the love of her life, Eugene Dobbs, at the local soda fountain shop. They married on July 17, 1960. She was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. Her hobbies included ceramics, acrylic painting and china painting. She also loved reading, cross-stitching and working puzzles. Together, she and Gene faithfully attended Monterey Baptist Church where she loved her Sunday School class and singing in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gene, her parents, Arthur and Mary Sue Tidmore Evans, and her brother and sister-in-law Lea Roy and Iva Hill.
She is survived by two daughters, Mistie Hill and husband Chris of Lubbock and Cristie Harrell and husband Michael of Plainview; three grandchildren Kirby (Jeremy) Smith of Round Rock, Derek Harrell and Chandra Harrell of Plainview. She was proud to tell everyone about her two great-grandsons, Dane and Bear.
Glenda, as well as her family, deeply appreciates the loving care she received from the entire staff at Westridge Manor and Traditions Health Hospice Care, both of Plainview.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Monterey Baptist Church of Lubbock.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 25, 2022, at 1:00PM at Monterey Baptist Church of Lubbock.
