

Inez Starkey Adams, 95, of Lubbock, Texas, was born April 21, 1920 in Duncan, Oklahoma. She died September 24, 2015, after a brief illness. She was the fourth child of James Leonard Starkey and Maggie Seeley Starkey. Her four siblings, Dee Starkey, Hazel Starkey Phillips, James H. Starkey and Juanita Starkey Brannon preceded her in death. She was a Methodist by faith and a graduate of Kermit High School, Kermit, Texas. She married M.L. “Red” Adams on December 20, 1938 in Kermit Texas. He died February 2, 2001. She is survived by her sons, Jerry M. Adams, James T. “Jim” Adams, and wife Cecilia; grandsons, John Adams, wife Jessica, Ron Adams, wife Nicole, all of Lubbock, James M. “Jim” Adams, wife Jenna, of Shallowater; great-grandchildren, Meghan Adams, Brett Adams of Shallowater and Sarah Adams, Samantha Adams, Jack Adams of Lubbock. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She had many interests during her lifetime. Since the mid 1980’s, her passion was quilting. When her eyesight failed, she generously donated her accumulated collection of quilting fabric to “Stiches of Love,” quilting group. These women were her friends, bound together by their collective love of fabric art and meeting the needs of people around them.
Graveside services will be held Monday, September 28, 2015 at 9:00 am, at Resthaven Memorial Park.
