

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Lubbock. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will take place on Friday May 12, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 PM in the Abbey Chapel at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Jackie was born March 10, 1931, in Charleston, WV to parents Mildred (Fettgather) and Francis X. Kuhn, Jr. Jackie grew up in the northeast, moving to new places where her stonemason father found work. She graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School in Lancaster, PA in 1949, and attended Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, PA where she earned an Associates Degree in Medical Technology in 1951. On January 19, 1960, she married Levern Anthony (Tony) Reis in Lubbock, TX.
Jackie was an accomplished quilter, quilt designer, and quilt teacher having earned the esteemed designation Master Craftsman in Quilting. She won awards for several of her quilts in quilt shows around the country and was a long-time member of the South Plains Quilters Guild and the West Texas Chapter of the Embroiderers' Guild.
Preceded in death by her husband, Tony Reis, survivors include four siblings; Lois Lewis, Danelle Kuhn, Phyllis Boneau and Francis X. Kuhn III. Eight children; Susan Burciaga, Stephen Reis, Kristen Peacock, Janet Reis, Patty Reis, Dorothy Rewerts, David Reis and Cecilia Evans; and ten grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, Dallas Area Parkinsonism Society or the South Plains Quilters Guild.
