

The family moved to South Gate, CA in 1936. She attended South Gate High School, played the cello in the Senior Orchestra, in Girl's Athletic Association, Latin Club and Ladies Social Club. She was the Cotton Queen in 1939 and gave the graduation speech in 1942. She also worked at Southern California Telephone Co. while attending Woodbury Commercial Art School. She was an active member of the Youth Fellowship and choir at First Christian Church, where she met Harlan Wright. They married in 1943 and had four children while Harlan attended medical school. In 1952 they moved to Lubbock and in 1964 welcomed another son. They were active members of First Methodist Church. Harlan and Lynne were married 68 years; he predeceased her in 2011. She was also predeceased by her sister.
Lynne leaves a wonderful legacy of unconditional love for her large family, including her brother; 5 children; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and many extended loved ones.
A Remembrance Service for friends at Raider Ranch will be Sunday, October 29, 2017. Private interment services will be held. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lubbock, 3702 21st Street, Lubbock, TX 79410 or the charity of choice.
