

James) M. Hildebrand (Jim), 62, of Lubbock, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 in Lubbock. Mr. Hildebrand was born on August 10, 1954 in San Francisco, CA to James Curtis and Gertrude (Haag) Hildebrand. He married Elizabeth (Scibilia) on March 12, 1975 in Tucson, AZ.
James was first and foremost a very loving and caring family man. He served his country honorably for twenty years in the United States Air Force, and after retiring he worked for Texas Tech University for fifteen years. He was a very skilled skeet shooter, and competed and won in many competitions. Jim, as he was known to everyone, also had a great passion for classic cars.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Elizabeth, son; James Hildebrand, daughters; Jenna Hildebrand, and Libby Spradlin (Neal). James was also blessed with one granddaughter; Norah Kate Spradlin. He also leaves behind brothers; Gil and Chuck, and sisters; Miki and Jae.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10am on Thursday, February 9, 2017 in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with Drew Speigel officiating. The family suggests memorials be made to the Lung Cancer Alliance, or to the Wounded Warriors Association.
